Company Sales Growth

Sales growth at Burberry PLC (BRBY.LN) accelerated in the first quarter, spurred by its Spring/Summer collection and sales in Hong Kong and China where the group is outperforming its peers despite a broader pull back in the luxury sector.
ICAP PLC (IAP.LN), said that the encouraging start to the financial year has continued throughout the first quarter from April 1 to July 10, adding that group revenue for the quarter was 2% ahead of the same period last year and management’s current expectations for the full year remain unchanged.
Halfords Group PLC (HFD.LN), a U.K. car spares and cycle retailer which also provides garage services, said Wednesday like-for-like revenue for the 13-weeks ended June 28 rose 7.5%, lead by cycling and car maintenance.
Barratt Developments PLC (BDEV.LN) said profit before tax and exceptional items is expected to be 192 million pounds for the year ended June 30, above analysts’ expectations of GBP170 million-GBP191 million, and it is confident to improve performance still further in the year ahead.

Kentz Corporation Ltd (KENZ.LN) said that it has been awarded a $38 million contract in Mozambique for a coal transportation project.
Bumi PLC is considering an alternative $508 million all-cash deal to separate itself from its major shareholder and co-founder, Indonesian conglomerate Bakrie Group, according to people familiar with the matter. Bumi Chairman Samin Tan is in talks to buy Bakrie Group’s 23.8% Bumi stake for about $230 million, one of the people familiar with the matter said. Bakrie Group would then combine the proceeds with additional funds to buy Bumi’s 29.2% stake in PT Bumi Resources TBk, Indonesia’s largest coal-mining company, for $508 million in cash.
